PUPPIES (IN MARYLAND) SURVIVE AFTER TOSSED IN DUMPSTER (5-4-14)

On May 4, Deputy McCuen responded to Indian Way for an animal cruelty complaint. The victim, owner of 3 puppies born on April 24th, reported suspect Tammy Maria Curtis, 49, of Lexington Park, pictured above, initially told the victim she killed the puppies and refused to tell the victim where they were. Sometime later, a witness found the puppies inside a plastic bag inside a community dumpster. All three puppies were still alive, but were having difficulty breathing. The investigation revealed Curtis threw the puppies in the dumpster after an argument with the victim. Curtis was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. She was charged with 3 counts of Animal Cruelty.
